Installing Joomla CMS

With Joomla CMS, building and designing your website is easy. However, not everyone is familiar with the software so it is best that you learn the basics first before you use it for your own website. Here are some of the most basic ways to install Joomla on your system.

You can start by downloading the latest installer or simple instructions on how to use it. Once you download the software, you can create a folder on your desktop or any other location where you want to install the Joomla.

Download the installer and open it. In the first window, click the “next” button. It will ask if you want to install or update.

When you installed it, you will have the option to update it. Select it. The next step will ask you to select your operating system and click the next button. When you select the platform you want to install, the installation process begins.

Open the admin control panel in your browser. In the left side menu, click “install” or simply type “install” in the search box of the admin panel.

Choose whether you want to install the CMS or you want to uninstall it. It will show a message if the install was successful. Click the “go” button to continue.

In the next step, choose whether you want to install the Joomla or you want to choose from the list of supported languages. If you choose to install the Joomla, you will see the default language. Choose the one you like and click the “go” button.

Next, choose whether you want to install the modules or the plugins. Browse to the modules that you like. Once you do, select it and click the “install” button.

When you install the modules, they will be installed into the main page. The next step will ask if you want to install the plug-ins. Browse to the plugins that you want to install and click the “install” button.

The next step will install the modules and plugins. When all the installations are done, the Joomla is installed on your system. If you installed it properly, you can access it by typing its name in the browser’s address bar.

Most of the plugins and modules are accessible from the main page of the CMS. They are normally grouped by theme. Just click on the list and you will find everything you need.

Installing Joomla is easy if you follow the steps above. You don’t need to understand how to use it, just be familiar with the basic processes.
