Creating a Site For Joomla CMS

There are many different elements you should take into consideration when designing a site for Joomla CMS. Although the product is commonly thought of as a content management system, this does not mean that it only works with HTML files. Most sites for Joomla use PHP, MySQL or Apache to provide the framework. In this article, I will share some basic tips about designing and hosting a Joomla CMS site.

When designing a site for Joomla CMS, it is important to make sure that you have the right tools and the right computer at hand; in particular, you should have access to a graphic design program such as Adobe Photoshop. If you do not have this program installed on your computer, then it is recommended that you purchase a copy of this program so that you can complete your work.

Once you have installed your graphic design program, you will need to have certain tools available. Some of these tools include Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and Java SE Runtime Environment, which are all necessary to design a website.

To start the process of creating a website, you will need to download a copy of Microsoft FrontPage so that you can install Microsoft FrontPage. You will also need to install Dreamweaver and FrontPage, so that you have access to the latest versions of these programs.

After you have downloaded and installed the program, you will need to create an administrative account for your site. This is very important as it gives you access to your Joomla CMS. It is also a good idea to create a user and password for your account so that no one else can log in to your site without your authorization.

To begin the creation of your site, you will need to install a pre-configured template. The templates that come with Joomla CMS comes in two varieties; the “W3” version and the “PHP” version. Both of these types of templates will allow you to use most of the design tools available in your browser.

One of the more common errors that occur when using Joomla is that users mistakenly design a site that looks like a professional site. Because of this, many new Joomla site designers use a template that resembles a “house” rather than one that looks like a professional site. Before you begin, it is advisable that you review the templates available and decide what type of site you would like to create.

Make sure that you don’t overlook the importance of good-looking navigation. By having a good-looking navigation, you will be able to make it easier for people to find your pages easily.

Another vital element that you should consider when designing a site for Joomla CMS is to create a folder where you will store your text files. Many people tend to place their HTML files inside the web root directory and even the root folder, but this will not provide the proper protection that you need when using Joomla.

Although many people use a template, there are those who choose to use the open source platform called WordPress, because it is easier to install, share and modify compared to traditional themes. Once you have installed WordPress, it is recommended that you change the default theme used by your blog.

Now that you have installed WordPress, you can find many features that will be used by your Joomla CMS site. For example, the use of the WordPress shortcode will allow you to customize your footer and sidebar to fit your specific needs.

Once you have completed the design process, you will now need to get the job done and have a simple website. You will need to upload the site to your server and then you will be ready to share your knowledge with other members of the world wide web.
